Does This Sound Like You (or Someone You Know)?
Our 64-year-old client lost her husband several years ago. More recently, she is starting to lose the sense of purpose her career in social work used to regularly provide. The thought of retiring can be daunting, especially when it comes to financial security. At the same time, the idea of focusing on spending more time on things we truly enjoy (in this case, her two young grandchildren and volunteering to teach English as a second language) sounds wonderful. Like many women that find themselves alone or considering big decisions like putting a period on a career, the key question is, “Do I have enough to retire and maintain my current lifestyle over my lifespan?”
This charming client was, of course, looking for a financial advisor that she can trust, someone who listens to her concerns and treats her with respect. Her number one concern is that she may not be taken seriously or be patronized, which is why finding her way to us was crucial. We understand! As a fiduciary financial planner and investment manager, we keep all our clients’ best interest’s paramount while guiding towards a secure financial future for each unique life decision.
As Warren Buffett said, "Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago." This quote speaks to the importance of seeing how our past actions can impact our current situation and our path forward. For this client, it's time to enjoy the shade!
We are delighted by our new client’s desire (and ability) to retire. Taking her unique circumstances to heart, we can plan for a secure future and create the peace of mind that comes from establishing a strong relationship. And now, it is time for her to enjoy her time with her charming grandchildren.
